Understand your result
A COD order can look profitable until delivery fees, advertising and returned parcels are counted. This Pakistan COD profit calculator estimates profit per order using both successful deliveries and return-to-origin losses. It is designed for online sellers who need a realistic margin before increasing ad spend.
How COD profit is calculated
The delivered-order calculation begins with selling price and subtracts product, packaging, outbound shipping, COD percentage, advertising and other entered deductions. The return calculation counts costs that remain when the customer does not accept the parcel, including outbound and return shipping. The expected result weights both outcomes using your return rate.
This is more useful than subtracting product cost from selling price. A store with a strong delivered margin can still lose money when its RTO rate is high. Use data from your courier dashboard and advertising account rather than optimistic guesses.
Courier charges, COD deductions and e-commerce tax
Courier pricing and COD deductions vary by merchant contract, parcel weight, destination and settlement method. Pakistan e-commerce rules may also affect courier or payment-intermediary deductions. Enter the percentages shown on your own settlement statement instead of treating a public rate as universal.
The “other deductions” field can model marketplace commission or a verified transaction-level deduction. It is not a complete sales-tax or income-tax return. If your business is registered, reconcile the estimate with invoices and courier statements.
Break-even price and maximum advertising cost
The break-even selling price estimates the price required to cover the entered costs on a delivered order. Maximum advertising cost shows how much contribution remains before advertising. Neither figure guarantees portfolio-level profit because payroll, warehousing, damaged returns and overhead are outside the simple order model.
Run conservative and optimistic scenarios. Compare the current RTO rate with rates ten points lower and higher, then use the result to decide whether pricing, confirmation calls, audience targeting or courier selection needs attention.
Worked example
If an item sells for PKR 2,500, costs PKR 900, uses PKR 80 packaging, PKR 220 delivery and PKR 350 advertising, the delivered margin may look healthy. Add an 18% return rate and PKR 220 return charge, however, and expected profit falls because failed orders still consume logistics and acquisition cost.
Questions people ask
What is a COD profit calculator?
It estimates delivered-order profit and then adjusts it for the cost and frequency of returned or refused parcels.
Does the calculator include RTO losses?
Yes. Enter your expected return rate and the courier charge for sending the parcel back.
Should product cost be lost on a return?
The default model treats returned inventory as recoverable. Add a conservative deduction when products are often damaged or cannot be resold.
How do I find my break-even selling price?
Enter product, packaging, courier, advertising and percentage deductions. The result shows the delivered-order break-even estimate.
Can I include marketplace commission?
Yes. Combine verified percentage deductions in the other-deductions field or include a fixed cost in the relevant input.
Does this calculate my final business tax?
No. It is an order-economics model, not an income-tax or sales-tax return.
