Electric & Hybrid Cars in Pakistan: EV, HEV, PHEV & REEV List

Pakistan’s car market is changing quickly. Petrol-powered cars still dominate the roads, but buyers now have a much wider choice of electric vehicles, conventional hybrids, plug-in hybrids and range-extended electric vehicles.

Only a few years ago, Pakistan’s electrified-car market consisted mainly of imported Japanese hybrids and a small number of expensive electric vehicles. In 2026, the situation is very different. BYD, Chery, Omoda, Jaecoo, Deepal, MG, Hyundai, Kia, GWM, XPENG, GAC, Dongfeng and several newer brands now have electrified vehicles in the market, while more models are being prepared for launch.

This guide brings together the major electric cars, hybrid cars, plug-in hybrids and range-extended electric vehicles available or officially announced for Pakistan as of October 2026.

Rather than turning this page into a specification sheet, each vehicle gets a short introduction. Detailed prices, battery specifications, ranges, features and comparisons can then be covered in separate model-specific guides.

EV battery technology affects driving range, charging speed, cost and battery lifespan.

EV vs HEV vs PHEV vs REEV: What’s the Difference?

Before looking at the vehicles, it helps to understand the four major types of electrified powertrain now appearing in Pakistan.

TypePetrol EngineElectric MotorPlug-in ChargingMain Propulsion
EV / BEVNoYesYesElectric motor
HEVYesYesNoPetrol engine + electric motor
PHEVYesYesYesPetrol engine + electric motor
REEVYesYesUsually yesElectric motor; petrol engine mainly generates electricity

An EV, or Battery Electric Vehicle, runs completely on electricity.

An HEV, or Hybrid Electric Vehicle, combines an engine and electric motor but normally does not need to be plugged into a charger.

A PHEV, or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, has a larger rechargeable battery and can normally cover part of a journey using electricity alone before relying more heavily on its petrol engine.

A REEV, or Range-Extended Electric Vehicle, is closer to an EV in the way it drives. Electric motors propel the vehicle while a petrol engine primarily works as an onboard generator.

Plug-in Hybrid Cars in Pakistan 2026

Plug-in hybrids have become one of Pakistan’s fastest-growing electrified segments.

A PHEV can normally be charged at home or at a compatible charging point and driven for shorter journeys using battery power. When the battery’s usable charge becomes low, the petrol engine allows the vehicle to continue without the same dependence on charging infrastructure as a pure EV.

By 2026, Pakistan’s PHEV market includes compact crossovers, seven-seat SUVs and even pickup trucks.

Haval H6 PHEV

The Haval H6 PHEV is an important model in Pakistan because it helped move locally assembled plug-in hybrids into the mainstream SUV market. Upcoming Plug-in Hybrid Cars in Pakistan

BYD Sealion 6

The BYD Sealion 6 is one of the most important upcoming PHEVs for Pakistan because BYD plans to assemble it locally. It was displayed at the Pakistan Auto Show 2026, and local production is targeted for the final quarter of 2026. It is expected to become the first locally assembled BYD passenger vehicle in Pakistan.

Denza B8

The Denza B8 was officially displayed in Pakistan at PAPS 2026. Denza is BYD’s premium brand, and the B8 is a large plug-in-hybrid SUV aimed substantially higher in the market than mainstream BYD products. A display does not automatically mean retail deliveries have started, so it is more accurate to treat it as an upcoming Pakistan-market vehicle until final commercial launch details are announced.

Denza B5

A Denza B5 demonstration unit has also been associated with BYD’s Pakistan plans. It is a smaller premium plug-in-hybrid off-road SUV than the B8, but a firm commercial launch schedule and final Pakistan specification should be confirmed before treating it as an officially available model.

Range-Extended Electric Vehicles in Pakistan 2026

REEVs have gone from almost unknown in Pakistan to a genuine vehicle category within a very short period.

The key difference is how they drive. In a typical REEV, the electric motor propels the wheels while the petrol engine primarily generates electricity. This means the vehicle can deliver an EV-like driving experience while reducing dependence on public charging during long journeys.

Forthing Friday REEV

The Forthing Friday was one of the earliest officially launched range-extended electric vehicles in Pakistan. Its electric motor handles propulsion while its petrol engine works as a generator, introducing Pakistani buyers to the basic REEV concept before the segment became crowded.

Deepal S05 REEV

The Deepal S05 joined Pakistan’s REEV market in late 2025. It gave Deepal a different proposition from its pure-electric S07 and L07: electric propulsion for normal driving combined with an onboard petrol generator for additional range.

XPENG L03 REEV

The XPENG L03 brought range-extender technology into the sedan segment. Pre-bookings opened in Pakistan in July 2026, making it notable because most of Pakistan’s early REEV models were SUVs or crossovers.

Changan Nevo Hunter REEV

The Changan Nevo Hunter officially launched in Pakistan in August 2026. It is particularly significant because it applies REEV technology to a pickup truck, combining electric propulsion with a petrol generator for longer journeys and remote-area use.

iCAUR V27

The iCAUR V27 officially launched in September 2026 alongside the electric V23. Unlike the V23, the larger V27 uses a range-extended electric system with dual electric motors and a petrol generator. Its rugged styling and all-wheel-drive layout place it in a different part of the market from city-oriented REEVs.

ARCFOX T5 REEV

The ARCFOX T5 became one of the newest additions to Pakistan’s REEV market on October 3, 2026. Introduced through Sazgar, the SUV combines a rechargeable battery with a petrol range extender and was announced in Pro and Max variants. Its arrival shows how quickly the REEV category is expanding beyond its first few models.

More REEVs Expected in Pakistan

Pakistan’s REEV market is likely to continue expanding. Manufacturers are exploring the technology because it offers one possible answer to a major concern surrounding EV adoption: intercity travel in areas where reliable fast charging is still limited.

New REEV models should nevertheless be classified carefully. A vehicle being tested, displayed or discussed by a distributor does not necessarily mean it has formally launched.

Which Type of Electric or Hybrid Car Makes Sense in Pakistan?

There is no single electrified powertrain that suits every driver.

An EV can work particularly well for drivers who have reliable home charging and predictable daily travel. Running costs can be attractive, and there is no petrol engine to maintain, but long journeys require more charging planning.

An HEV is the easiest transition from a conventional petrol car. You simply refuel it normally and the vehicle manages its battery automatically.

A PHEV can be useful when most daily journeys are short enough to use battery power but the vehicle is also regularly used for longer intercity trips. However, the owner needs to charge it regularly to receive the full benefit of carrying a larger battery.

A REEV provides an EV-like electric drivetrain while retaining an onboard petrol generator. This can make the concept particularly interesting in Pakistan while public charging coverage continues developing.

What Should You Check Before Buying an EV in Pakistan?

The badge and advertised range should not be the only considerations.

Charging compatibility, home-charging access, battery warranty, service-network coverage, parts availability and resale demand can matter considerably over several years of ownership.

Battery condition becomes even more important when buying a second-hand electric vehicle. Our guide to checking EV battery State of Health before buying a used electric car explains what SOH means, what diagnostic information to request and why the dashboard range alone is not a reliable battery-health test.

Why Pakistan’s Electrified-Car Market Is Growing So Quickly

One of the most noticeable changes in 2025 and 2026 has been the number of brands entering Pakistan with electrified products.

EVs are no longer limited to expensive luxury vehicles. Small electric hatchbacks are now available alongside mid-size crossovers, sedans, pickups, SUVs and MPVs.

At the same time, hybrids and PHEVs have become increasingly common in locally assembled vehicles. REEVs have also developed into their own category rather than remaining a single experimental product.

Recent launches underline how quickly the market is moving. Models such as the ORA 5, MG4 EV Urban, Chery Q, iCAUR V23 and V27 arrived during 2026, while the ARCFOX T5 REEV was introduced as recently as October 3.

Electric and Hybrid Cars Coming to Pakistan: What to Expect Next

Pakistan’s electrified market is still developing, so the list will continue changing.

BYD’s planned local assembly of the Sealion 6 is particularly significant because it represents a move from imported BYD passenger vehicles toward local production. Denza has also been displayed locally, while ARCFOX has begun introducing its first vehicles through Sazgar.

More brands are likely to introduce electrified variants as competition increases, but announced international models should not automatically be described as “coming to Pakistan” until there is credible evidence of local testing, official confirmation, a dealership announcement or a launch plan.
